Driving Directions to satellite parking:
From I-64 to City Center
Take exit 258A to merge onto US-17 S/J Clyde Morris Blvd. Turn right onto Thimble Shoals Blvd. Parking is available in all three City Center garages: Fountain Way, Mariners & Merchants Walk. Shuttle pick up/drop off is on Thimble Shoals in front of Fountain Way parking garage. Look for shuttle pick up signs.
From I-64 to Newport News Shipbuilding
Take exit 264 to merge onto I-664 S toward Downtown Newport News/ Chesapeake/ Suffolk. Continue on I-664 S for 4.2 miles. Take exit 5 to merge onto 35th Street. Keep right at the fork and merge onto US-60 W/Warwick Blvd. Continue for .4 miles. Newport News Shipbuilding Parking is on the left between 41st and 45th streets.
From I-64 to John B. Todd Stadium
Take exit 255A for VA-143/ Jefferson Ave. Merge onto VA-143 E/ Jefferson Ave and continue for 1.1 miles. Turn right onto Oyster Point Road and continue for 1.0 mile. Turn left onto Warwick Blvd and continue for 2.3 miles. Turn right into Newport News Public Schools John B. Todd Stadium, parking available on the left.

Pirates Pack the Park will be held at The Mariners’ Museum Park. Check out the festival map for more details.
Entrance to the Festival is free. There will be some activities in the Children’s Area that have a small cost. Museum admission during the event will only be $5/person (kids 5 and under are free; members are free) No other discounts apply.
Due to the large attendance, there will not be on-site parking at The Mariners’ Museum and Park. Only designated vehicles and handicap-marked vehicles will be allowed on The Mariners’ property. See Getting There for park-and-ride and shuttle-bus information.
Drop-offs and taxis
No drop-offs by private vehicles or taxis will be allowed on-site.
Yes. There will designated areas for bicycle parking on Museum property.
No. There are no docks on-site.
Yes. We have designated parking on-site for large, organized groups. Please fill out our Group Tours Scheduling Request Form to make arrangements.
No. Pets are not allowed in the festival area. Hearing, service, and police dogs are allowed.
No real weapons are allowed. Non-firing replicas weapons and plastic or wooden weapons are allowed. We reserve the right to review and prohibit weapons from the festival area.
First, you must come properly dressed like a pirate according to the stated requirements in Breaking the Record. At one of the three entrances, all qualified pirates will be issued a numbered wristband.
You can still come to the festival if you're not dressed as a pirate, though you will not be counted for the record attempt.
Outside food and beverages
No outside food, beverages, or coolers will be allowed. Food and beverage vendors will be available within the festival grounds.
Cash and ATM
There is an ATM located within festival grounds and in Museum Lobby. You do not have to pay museum admission to use the ATM.
The festival will continue rain or shine.
Chairs and blankets
Yes, collapsible/folding chairs and blankets are allowed in the festival area.
Smoking is only allowed in designated areas and we respectfully request that you extinguish cigarette butts in designated sand-containers.
Noland Trail accessibility
Yes, but no on-site parking is available. See Getting There for park-and-ride and shuttle-bus information.
